Planetcad And Cadkey Corporation Announce New Partnership
PlanetCAD (www.planetcad.com), a division of Spatial Inc. (www.spatial.com), a developer of Web-hosted engineering application services and solutions and component 3D modeling technology, announced an agreement involving two of PlanetCAD's application services and CADKEY Corporation's (www.cadkey.com) CADKEY Web Store.
Under the terms of the agreement, PlanetCAD's 3Dshare.com and Bits2Parts.com application services will be accessible from the CADKEY Web Store (www.cadkey.com/webstore). As application services, 3Dshare.com and Bits2Parts.com will allow manufacturing and design engineers access to advanced model healing and interoperability services and request-for-quotation (RFQ) solutions through the CADKEY Web Store.
The advanced 3D geometry file translation and healing capabilities that have attracted numerous industry players to ally with 3Dshare.com will now be made available to the thirty thousand unique monthly visitors of the CADKEY site. PlanetCAD's 3Dshare.com now has similar partnerships with four CAD and manufacturing industry sites that will reach more than three million potential users.
The agreement marks the first official partnership for the Bits2Parts.com rvice. Bits2Parts.com streamlines the quotation, communication and data flow process between manufacturers and rapid prototyping service providers by providing a centralized, comprehensive RFQ form. The Bits2Parts.com RFQ form was created by manufacturing industry experts and features intuitive capabilities designed to remove ambiguities and rapidly deliver easily understandable job specifications to service providers.
The CADKEY Web site provides content-rich information and valuable resources to its product users. After accessing the site, customers may read the latest CADKEY-related news or visit the CADKEY Web Store to shop for the latest product offerings. CADKEY's Web Store offers users a virtual catalog of its products and those offered by its many e-Partners. Additionally, the CADKEY Web site provides users with a "Web Forum" for discussion on its software and related issues.
