Corio Teams Up With Broadvision To Host Integrated E-procurement Solution and Market Exchanges
Corio Inc. (www.corio.com), an enterprise application service provider (ASP), furthered its strategic alliance with BroadVision Inc. (www.broadvision.com) with the announcement of two new solutions.
Corio will be the first company to offer hosted BroadVision Procurement, a software application that enables companies to automate and streamline their purchasing processes while offering a personalized experience for each user. The end-to-end solution will offer both robust, personalized electronic procurement as well as supplier connectivity and transaction capabilities, while allowing companies to capitalize on the speed-to-market and cost efficiency of the ASP model.
The two companies also announced a strategic alliance to extend existing efforts in providing a hostable solution to build marketplace exchanges. Corio and BroadVision will pool resources to develop and sell Marketmaker.net an integrated, template-based product based on the BroadVision MarketMaker application that customers can utilize to quickly build a market exchange while realizing the cost advantages inherent in the ASP model. By building on Corio's eMarket initiative announced earlier this year, BroadVision and Corio are moving to meet the growing customer demand for hosted marketplaces.
BroadVision MarketMaker takes the customer's e-marketplace beyond basic online commerce transactions, by enabling the creation and management of online communities though content management, customer intercommunication and account management. Together, these capabilities help build site loyalty through a sense of community and help customers achieve and sustain liquidity.
As part of the arrangement, BroadVision and Corio intend to combine resources from the companies' respective marketing organizations to drive the strategy and development of Marketmaker.net. BroadVision will continue to develop relevant functional MarketMaker templates while Corio will test and configure the product for the hosted model. The two companies will also jointly sell and market Marketmaker.net to interested customers.
