NEWS Deloitte & Touche, Deloitte Consulting and Carnegie Mellon Announce First e-Business Chair Professorship Deloitte & Touche (www.dttus.com) and Deloitte Consulting (www.dc.com) and Carnegie Mellon University (www.cmu.edu) announced the first Deloitte Chair for e-Business. Turning down competitive offers from several universities, Tridas Mukhopadhyay accepted this position with hopes of working directly with Deloitte to enhance Carnegie Mellon's position as a leader in e-commerce education. The chair recognizes the existing Master of Science in Electronic Commerce program under Carnegie Mellon's Graduate School of Industrial Administration and the School of Computer Science. As the head of this program and the Deloitte e-Business chair, Mukhopadhyay drives the nation's first e-commerce master's program. He is planning to prepare students for the new economy through course study in areas such as Internet marketing, software development, Web page design, networks and security, electronic payments systems, Internet technology, business-to-business transactions and the law of the Internet. The Deloitte & Touche foundation and principals and employees of Deloitte & Touche and Deloitte Consulting are in the process of contributing to fund the e-commerce program, recruitment and Mukhopadhyay's research.
