Position entails working with clients to implement integrated planning and scheduling applications using our state of the art proprietary software. Job responsibilities include establishing the client requirements; modeling the problem; identifying sources of data and then importing and validating the data; developing resolutions to the problems using algorithms, LP and expert system rules; and customizing user interfaces to the models. These are tenure-track appointments, requiring a Ph.D. in Operations Research, Operations Management, or a related field. FACULTY POSITIONS IN OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT The Faculty of Management at McGill University invites applications for one tenure track position and one visiting position at all ranks in Operations Management, beginning in September 1998. The visiting position is a one year sabbatical replacement, and it could be split into two half-year positions. McGill has a very strong research tradition and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Our specific teaching needs include, Analysis of Manufacturing Systems, Total Quality Management, Management of Manufacturing Technology, and Manufacturing Strategy. The appointed individuals would be expected to carry out research and develop courses in the areas of their interests and strength. Salary is competitive. The Faculty of Management has over 45 full-time faculty and offers B.Com., M.B.A., and Ph.D. degrees. There are 1500 undergraduate, 500 M.B.A., and 50 Ph.D. students. This year, we launched the Master in Manufacturing Management (MMM) program, a joint program with the Faculty of Engineering at McGill.
