Advanced Planning and Scheduling Software

One of the fastest growing categories of production and inventory control software is that of the advanced planning and scheduling (APS) system. This new approach promises to enhance and improve current approaches to planning and scheduling, as it embodies new ways of thinking about both processes. Rather than viewing these two activities as separate, the APS system tries to combine them into a seamless whole. This new approach to planning and scheduling has generated many new packages. In this month's review, we turn our attention to one such package, Taylor Execution Scheduling System (TESS) from Taylor Manufacturing Systems.
