Moser, CNA, CNSA APICS Director of Information Systems I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended my session at APICS '97 last October, especially the folks at the Metro D.C. Chapter who helped me tune up for it. You were a great audience, and your feedback has been most kind. As I noted in my session, however, this kind of presentation has a half-life of about 30 days. Well, I finished writing my presentation on Oct. 19 and the Dec. 2 issue of PC Magazine landed in my mailbox yesterday (Nov. 18). This issue contains an article called "Searching the Net" that now ranks HotBot ahead of Excite and other precision search indexes. Those of you who did attend my session may recall that I preferred HotBot above the rest. Last month, I wrote about our new Fax-on-Demand system, our list server and our WhatsNew announcement list. As of this writing, the WhatsNew list has 1,031 subscribers who receive weekly updates on our Web site, list server, and other services. We update the Web site almost every week, and these announcements can be a big time saver when you want to know what's changed. In addition, we introduced discussion lists for each of our SIGs at the conference:
