Editorial Mission Statement

CiME (Computer Integrated Manufacture and Engineering) is edited for executives, managers, engineers and technical directors engaged in computer-integrated manufacturing and related engineering fields. It focuses on manufacturing systems, software, controls, and design & engineering. By providing information on the latest manufacturing principles, practices and products, CiME keeps its readers on top of technological trends and competitive challenges.


Circulation and Distribution

CiME is a vital information source for executives, managers, engineers and technical directors engaged in computer-integrated manufacturing and engineering. It currently serves the communication needs of 26,000 European professionals, including several thousand members of ESPRIT (the Specific Research and Technological Development Program in the field of Information Technology).

With its new publisher, Lionheart Publishing, Inc., CiME will be undergoing an expansion to include the North American market, giving it a more global reach.

All literature file insertions count toward frequency rates for display advertising. No agency discounts apply.


Classified Advertising Information and Rates

Classified advertising is published in a standard 3-column format. The charge is $130 per column inch, for up to 5 inches. For ads larger than 5 inches, display classified rates will apply (see below). On publisher-typeset ads, frequency discounts of 10 percent will apply for four or more insertions within a calendar year. For blind box ads, an additional charge of $15 will apply.

Display classified advertising is sold in 1/4-page, 1/2-page horizontal and full-page units.

One-, two-, and three-inch (maximum size) ads for professional services include: consultants, placement/executive search/personnel services, management consulting firms, home study or short-course study programs. Ads must run for a minimum of four times and are non-cancelable. Advanced payment is required.

This space is non-commissionable to advertising agencies and cannot be used as a rate holder by display advertisers.

A number of creative options, including, but not limited to, inserts and business reply cards, are available to help you increase both your impact and response rate. Some special advertising pieces, such as bellybands, can be added to just a portion of the print run for special distribution (at trade shows, user conferences, etc.). Don't hesitate to contact a member of the ad sales staff with your own ideas!

$950 with full-page ad only. Rate is based on advertiser supplying printed cards. CiME will arrange printing if necessary for an additional charge. Contact your sales rep for details and estimates.

Material Requirements


Publisher reserves the right to use the most recent advertising material if new material is not supplied by the material deadline.
Film negatives, right-reading emulsion side down preferred. Same-size velox prints accepted for black & white art only.
Four-color material should include one set of progressives, proofs, Cromalin or color key. If not provided, printer will pull color proof and advertiser will be charged. Live matter must be kept at least 3/8" from trim edges and gutter areas on bleed pages.
Advertiser-supplied negatives, artwork or associated materials will be held by the Publisher for 12 months unless their return is requested on the insertion order or contract. They will be destroyed after that period of time. Contact Marketing Dept., ext. 205, for details.

Electronic Submission


Certain ad material may be submitted electronically via disk or modem. To avoid computer compatibility problems, advertisers are advised to contact the production department for technical specifications.

Reprints and Single Issues


Article reprints and issue preprints can be an effective addition to your marketing materials. They can supplement your current sales literature, be sent out as direct mail, or be used as a handout at trade shows.
