EZ-Locate users can send address records over the Internet from a desktop PC to Etak's geocoding server. The server postally standardizes input addresses and appends geocodes, postal codes and census codes, then immediately returns this information to the sender.

ITI Demonstrates Pollution Prevention Technology

4/30/97
11:44 AM

The Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) recently completed a demonstration project that sought to identify methods to reduce air emissions for chromium electroplaters. This project uncovered two cost-effective methods of pollution prevention that reduce these hazardous air emissions below the levels specified by government standards.

The project found that two-stage composite mesh pad-style mist eliminators and chemical mist suppressants were effective in limiting chromium emissions at or below the maximum achievable control technology (MACT) standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency.

This standard is .030 milligrams per dry standard cubic meter (mg./dscm) or air for small facilities with existing electroplating tanks, .015 mg./dscm for small facilities with new tanks and .015 mg./dscm for large facilities with existing or new tanks.
