NEC and Hewlett-Packard Japan, the Japanese unit of Hewlett-Packard,
have agreed to cooperate in systems integration projects. The two
computer makers have already won an order from Kokusai Denshin Denwa
to build its next-generation "mission critical system" based on a
large-scale open system. A KDD official said the Japanese
international carrier is seeking to upgrade its billing and
provisioning systems.
As part of the agreement, NEC and Hewlett-Packard Japan will set
up a technical support center.
