Transom Jack
Transom Jack 1.2 human modeling and behavioral simulation software works with CAD/CAM data to simulate people interacting with machines and workspaces. It now features a reach volume calculation feature to help users understand exactly where a person of a specific stature in a specific posture can reach. Enhanced anthropometry (scaling of human models according to population statistics) and more detailed biomechanical definition give users more realistic human models for their simulations.
Transom Jack's CAD integration capabilities have been improved through the development of a direct link with Parametric Technology's Pro/ENGINEER. This link automates the process of taking models directly >from Pro/ENGINEER into Transom Jack's human simulation environment. In addition, a new Web-based report generation tool automatically creates browser-ready HTML reports for a variety of ergonomic measurements. A direct VRML translator enables users to produce VRML models from Transom Jack simulations.

Cosmo Player
Cosmo Player 2.0 for Windows 95 and Windows NT is a universal VRML client
that enables consistent playback of VRML content on desktop PCs with or
without hardware acceleration. Significant improvements in Cosmo Player 2.0
include an updated, easier-to-use user interface and improved rendering
performance through support for OpenGL, an application programming
interface (API). The redesigned user interface, which resembles the
controls found in today's consumer electronics devices, enables easier
navigation and manipulation of VRML content.
Developers will have more flexibility as a result of the tight integration of Java and JavaScript into the native code base of Cosmo Player 2.0. Faster performance rendering through OpenGL will enable the creation of next-generation content through improved support for textures, consistent color and lighting. Cosmo Player is an integral component of Netscape Communicator 4.0 and functions as a plug-in for Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0. Cosmo Player is currently available for public download at no charge.

VRCreator
VRCreator 2.0 Personal Edition is a software tool that allows computer
users to create interactive 3-D content for the Web, corporate intranets
and stand-alone computers. VRCreator is based on the VRML 2.0
specification. Within VRCreator, users can access a library of more than
1,000 drag-and-drop components such as 3-D models, colors, textures, sounds
and behaviors. Scenes are built by dragging and dropping these multimedia
components into VRCreator's real-time 3D authoring environment.
Interactivity can be added to scenes using VRCreator's library of
drag-and-drop behaviors such as "Click Object to Explode" and "Click Object
to Play Sound."
VRCreator also contains a built-in 3-D Modeler that can be used to create custom 3-D objects, and a Keyframe Animator that lets users create complex animations of objects, lights and viewpoints. Additionally, advanced Web and application developers can use VRCreator's Expert features such as the Scene Graph Hierarchy Editor, Route Editor and Script Editor to build state-of-the- art interactive 3D content. Agent Development Environment
The G2 Agent Development Environment (ADE) software enables the creation of distributed intelligent systems based on intelligent agent technology. Developed in cooperation with the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, the ADE toolkit allows users of Gensym's G2 expert system development software to develop, test and deploy intelligent agents across a network.
ADE allows engineers to build and implement distributed agent-based applications. Agent behavior is described using a graphical language, and various debugging, tracing and visual aids are provided. To promote successful applications, the ADE toolkit can be used in both simulation and deployment modes. In the simulation mode, the system can be tuned and trained without spending the time and resources to connect to actual equipment. Once the system performs to an engineer's satisfaction, it can be connected to plant equipment and run on-line in a deployment mode.
ADE supports mobile agents and the agents can communicate with each other by sending message objects. The ADE environment resolves addressing issues and provides "yellow pages" and "white pages" services for agents to find each other. Because G2 is an open system, the agents can communicate with other plant systems as well, such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed controls systems (DCSs), data historians, and databases.
