Mechanical Desktop
The Mechanical Desktop is a tightly integrated software application
that provides advanced 2-D and 3-D mechanical CAD functions on
desktop systems. The Mechanical Desktop contains integrated modules
for parametric solid and surface modeling, assembly modeling, and
associative drafting, as well as AutoCAD Release 13 and the Autodesk
IGES translator. It provides new and enhanced functions requested by
designers of machines, electro-mechanical assemblies, common molded
parts, and other mechanical products.
Comprehensive assembly modeling lets designers take separately
modeled parts and combine them into assemblies to create complete
product models. In addition, the assembled parts can be separated
into "exploded views" so that users can see how and where the parts
come together. Users also can generate bills-of-material (BOM) on
screen. Price: $6,250.

WorkShop
WorkShop 3.0 is a Microsoft Windows-based factory management system
that provides manufacturers with the ability to control their
operation using MRP planning and scheduling tools. The six modules
are: order, machine, schedule, bill of material (BOM), plan and cost.
WorkShop can be configured to support a full range of manufacturing
applications from the small job shop to a large facility.
WorkShop features a finite forward/backward scheduler. BOM modular
and variable bill types can reduce the maintenance of complex product
structures and increase their accuracy. Extensive costed BOM reports
can improve control of product costing. For manufacturers concerned
about meeting ISO 9000 standards, WorkShop is transaction-based and
includes lot and serial number traceability.

Promis/Madema Link
The Madema production scheduling system has been integrated with the
Promis manufacturing execution system solution. The Promis
manufacturing execution system provides managers with real-time
control over shop floor operations. Madema is a multi-function
decision support tool which facilitates finite scheduling, production
planning and "what-if" analysis.
Production planners can take advantage of up-to-the-minute
information describing actual material and equipment status on the
shop floor when making up production schedules. Schedules created
using Madema are communicated to the shop floor via Promis dispatch
lists delivered to individual work center displays. The new Promis
and Madema are available on OpenVMS, OSF/1 and Hewlett-HP-UX
computing platforms.

InQuire
InQuire, a material management software program designed for the
small manufacturing company, now includes job inventory control and
support for multiple warehouses. An integrated manufacturing system
can be created when InQuire is linked with third-party accounting
packages. InQuire operates in the Macintosh environment, and features
a master schedule material planning system with complete
supply/demand analysis and reporting.
InQuire is designed to automate and integrate the most important
functions in a manufacturing environment, including: inventory
management; bill of material generation and control; planning and
assigning orders; purchasing planned material to arrive on time;
tracking inventory movement through production; and reporting
work-in-process. Pricing starts at $1,395.
