Baan IV BackOffice is an enterprise resource planning (ERP)
software solution that runs under Microsoft BackOffice on Compaq
ProLiant 5000 platforms. It provides an ERP solution across the
entire supply chain, and includes a dynamic enterprise modeling
capability that enables companies to adapt the software to changing
organizational structures, business practices and operational
procedures. Customers who choose to run an enterprise on Windows NT
with Compaq's servers based on Intel technology will have a fully
scalable solution which is optimized for this platform and is
suitable for a combined UNIX and Windows NT environment.

Made2Manage for Windows 1.2 integrates sales, manufacturing and
financial management functions in a single enterprise resource
planning (ERP) product. Version 1.2 has improved scheduling and MRP
functionality. The scheduler supports four algorithms, including
forward finite capacity scheduling, which can be generated
simultaneously, giving production schedulers the ability to view and
compare results prior to making a final selection. The scheduler
links directly to Microsoft Project. The MRP option provides the
capability for mixed-mode manufacturers to process all demands for
stock items, made-to-order items and items to be purchased and resold
through MRP functions. Made2-Manage uses 32-bit, object-oriented
technology designed for Windows 95 and Windows NT.

Spreadsheet Scheduler 3.0 provides a spreadsheet-based set of
tools to help a manufacturing organization manage projects more
efficiently, improve customer deliveries and minimize work-in-process
times. Work flow and work-in-process models provide techniques for
scheduling customer jobs through single workstations, workstations in
series, or workstations in parallel. These models can enable more
efficient planning and accurate customer deliveries through
minimizing average flow time, numbers of days late for jobs, and
number of late jobs. Functionality also includes the ability to do
"what-if" analysis to accommodate changes without missing
deadlines.

Man-Fact/CEM is an industry-specific enterprise resource planning
(ERP) solution for contract electronics manufacturers (CEMs). In
addition to standard Man-Fact II functionality (see Intelligent
Manufacturing, August 1995), Man-Fact/CEM also provides CEMs
with timely and accurate manufacturing resource plans to help
evaluate the numerous customer product data changes. Costing methods
are flexible, including standard, average, LIFO, FIFO, and actual.
Visibility into the system is increased with abilities such as
inventory by manufacturer and part number, as well as accountability
of customer-provided materials.

TCM (Time Critical Manufacturing) 5.3 software features expanded
interfaces to machine tools and engineering information, and expanded
use of graphical user interfaces. TCM integrates with FACTORYnet I/S
software to create the Factory Workstation, a software package that
allows a manufacturer to establish a single focus for all the
manufacturing information required on the factory floor. TCM software
uses six integrated suites: planning, manufacturing execution system
(MES), supply chain management, finance, accounting &
administration, and decision support & enterprise tools. Version
5.3 includes document library functionality, which associates the
right document, at the right revision level, with whatever it
logically belongs to, such as an operation on a work order, a
customer, a part, and/or a vendor, and can be located anywhere on the
network.

Sherpa/Web is a product data management (PDM) system that delivers
the security capabilities to allow a manufacturer to permit user
access to their PDM information via the World Wide Web. It provides a
Web integration to the Sherpa PDM system that is specifically
designed to enforce user authentication. Encrypted transactional
security is provided. Sherpa/Web runs on Netscape's Commerce Server
platform, which provides built-in capabilities for enforcing database
transaction security. Communications between the Commerce Server and
the Sherpa PDM system are accomplished via Sherpa Foundation Class
(SFC) software, an object-oriented class library that uses standard
objects to permit data sharing between PDM software and third-party
applications.

MRP9000 2.0 is a manufacturing control system that combines MRP II
techniques with ISO 9000 quality control tools. Running on Microsoft
Access on Windows 95 or Windows NT platforms, MRP9000 is designed for
both make-to-stock and make-to-order manufacturers. New capabilities
in version 2.0 include configurator bills, price matrix, average and
last cost, bar coding, serial number tracking, menu maintenance, new
help files, and improved reporting functionality. It includes an
intuitive help system that graphically displays procedures and allows
forms to be updated, reports to be printed and functions to be
performed from within interactive and customizable on-line flow
charts.

An interface between MP2 for Windows, a computerized maintenance
management system, and Wonderware's InTouch man-machine interface
software, is now available. Using the new interface, machine failure
or cycle counts detected by InTouch are reported instantly by MP2 for
Windows to both the operator and a maintenance worker for appropriate
action, i.e., emergency repair or preventive maintenance. An
appropriate work order is released, and required parts can be
automatically tagged for requisition through the MP2 interface to
electronic parts catalogs.

BaanPDM is a complete manufacturing and engineering software
solution, based on BAIN's Manta and Baan's Baan IV products.
Manufacturing and engineering customers often face the problem of
having to deal with two separate systems: materials/enterprise
resource planning (MRP/ERP) and product data management (PDM). Even
though some of the information is the same, two different databases
are maintained. This inevitably leads to the duplication of data
input. With BaanPDM, all product information and related documents
can be seamlessly transferred back and forth between each system.
BaanPDM streamlines the engineering-to-manufacturing process by
providing an integrated suite of document management, versioning and
change control as well as product structure and workflow management
capabilities.
