eMIS/2000
eMIS/2000 (Enterprise Management Information System) for Windows is
an integrated suite of 48 manufacturing, financial and distribution
subsystems. This enterprise resource management (ERP) manufacturing
solution leverages the Oracle Designer/2000 design and modeling
technology to facilitate rapid customization, seamless revisions and
mission-critical implementation of business applications. eMIS/2000's
Microsoft Windows-based environment features icons, multilayered
windows and pull-down menus. The user-friendly interface is designed
to enable a modern manufacturing enterprise to implement more
efficient internal procedures.

CJM
Cost-Justifier for Manufacturing (CJM) is a software program the
quantifies the benefits of acquiring a manufacturing system. It
demonstrates which of several competing alternatives offers the best
return-on-investment; pinpoints system payoffs and justifies
acquisition to key decision makers; identifies incremental system
benefits; and develops benchmarks to evaluate implementation success.
CJM uses a set of Excel spreadsheets to provide methods for
performing a cost-justification analysis of a proposed computer
system, including hardware, software and services. It produces a
range of reports documenting all input assumptions and calculations.
Price: $199.

FACTORYnet
FACTORYnet I/S 3.0 is a Windows-based factory information management
system. It transfers critical manufacturing information from the
engineering department directly to the shop floor and manages the
information in real-time. An entry-level module provides distributed
numerical control (DNC) and document management functionality, as
well as full security capabilities. An intermediate module provides
electronic travelers for easier management of factory information,
which can be organized into part travelers and job travelers. A part
traveler uses manufacturing routing for organizing work instructions
and all other documents needed for the manufacture of a part. Job
travelers are unique copies of the part traveler used for the
collection of as-built information and tailored for the specific job.
An advanced module will be available later this year.

Paradym-31
Paradym-31 industrial control software is a Windows-based graphical
programming, simulation and control environment. It monitors the
logic execution in the controller real-time. Off-line program
simulation can be used for simulation, testing and modeling. Using
simulation, program logic can be more easily verified than during
actual machine operation. Version 2.8 includes a Dynamic Link Library
(DLL) for automatically integrating SoftLogic and a man-machine
interface (MMI), as well as a link to Intellution's FIX.

DataWorks Reporting System
The DataWorks Reporting System provides production-level reporting
capabilities from multiple applications, data sources and operating
systems. It currently runs on DataFlo, an enterprise resource
planning (ERP) system for high-volume, discrete and repetitive
manufacturers, and will be available for MAN-FACT II, a custom/job
shop-oriented ERP system, later this year. The DataWorks Reporting
System operates in a three-tiered, client/server architecture that
delivers reporting capabilities to the desktop while maintaining
control of information flow through a central server and data
dictionary. This allows users to access and integrate data from
multiple databases and operating systems. It also makes it possible
for users to query using OLE and ODBC as well as SQC.

Job Cost
The Advantage Series Job Cost module is designed to help
manufacturers track and evaluate past projects and production orders
to create accurate estimates. The system compares estimated and
actual cost of production orders to help manufacturers determine
proper pricing schedules for future production orders. It compares
the estimated versus actual time spent on the production line by
workers. To help prepare for all situations, Job Cost also considers
other costs when comparing estimates such as overhead labor,
materials and equipment rentals. It produces several reports for
planning, estimating and budgeting future jobs. Manufacturers can
review expected completion reports for unfinished jobs, including
remaining hours and quantities, costs and charges for labor and
materials, and expected profit for each work order.

RSTools and RSLinx
RSTools is a suite of ActiveX (formerly called OLE Custom Controls)
controls for manufacturing and industrial applications that allows
users to create custom operator interfaces and databases, link PC
workstations and servers to plant floor devices, and view multiple
data links simultaneously. RSLinx is a set of communications drivers
that link plant floor control and high-level information systems.
This allows users to access data from the plant floor and present it
through a robust server architecture. Both RSTools and RSLinx are now
being bundled with Microsoft products (including Visual Basic and SQL
Server) to create an industrial data management enabler. This enabler
can be used by integrators and value-added resellers as the
foundation to build their own custom manufacturing execution system
(MES).

ASIC-100
ASIC-100 industrial control software integrates discrete logic,
motion control and man-machine interface (MMI) capabilities into a
single PC running Windows NT or Windows 95. It is designed to allow
PC hardware to function as a full-featured programmable logic
controller (PLC) with more openness and ease of use. It provides
multi-axis motion control programming and execution with
comprehensive diagnostics and techniques for integrating motion and
logic control.

CITECT
CITECT control and monitoring software includes data accumulators to
track incremental runtime data for any plant floor equipment.
Accumulated data can be trended for production and planning to show
total operating hours, power consumption and downtime. Screen objects
can be animated for engineering and maintenance to highlight
stoppages or the need for preventive action; it can even trigger an
event action, such as sending an e-mail message requiring action from
the maintenance engineer.
