ReThink
ReThink is an intelligent software toolkit for modeling, simulating
and redesigning supply chains, business processes and workflow. It
enables management and reengineering teams to work together to
explore alternative process designs with hands-on modeling and
simulation capability. Once reengineering is completed, ReThink
business models can be put on-line to help monitor performance and
manage operations. As a result, enterprise knowledge captured during
reengineering can continue to provide value.
ReThink combines animation and interactive graphics with
object-oriented representation to capture and communicate the
important details of a business process. After building the process
model with these representation techniques, simulation and "what if?"
capabilities allow users to evaluate and understand process
performance. Its real-time capabilities allow users to put a business
process model on-line where it can continue to help manage
operations. ReThink runs on PCs, Unix workstations, and Digital
VAX/Open VMS systems. Licenses start at $11,000.

AutoSched
AutoSched 4.5 scheduling software models the allocation of resources
in a manufacturing environment. It is a finite capacity planning and
scheduling tool designed to increase throughput, reduce
work-in-process inventory, and increase equipment and personnel
utilization. With AutoSched, model building is accomplished by
providing the definition of the factory, products and desired
production requirements in data files. The data may be collected from
existing databases and spreadsheets, or be created specifically for
AutoSched.
Enhancements in the latest version include an Accelerated Processing
(AP) Mode, providing speed improvements for running capacity and
scheduling analyses. AutoSched runs on PCs and Unix workstations.

R/3
R/3 3.0 manufacturing modules address processes for discrete,
repetitive and process manufacturing. This new release includes new
capabilities for integrating manufacturing operations with sales and
distribution, financial accounting and human resources information
systems via electronic data interchange (EDI) and enhanced business
workflow methods that support integrated, enterprise-wide supply
chain management for industrial companies.
Electronic Kanban, a repetitive manufacturing production control
technique, is supported within R/3 3.0 to promote enterprise resource
planning (ERP) and integrated supply chain management initiatives
within an organization. R/3 runs on Unix workstations.

Pro/Jr.
Pro/Jr. 1.1 is an entry-level software product for mechanical
design-through-documentation. Because it can import 3-D IGES data,
users who are suppliers to larger companies will be able to reference
existing models created in other CAD systems while designing parts
and assemblies for their customers in the Pro/Jr. environment.
Pro/Jr. is a parametric, feature-based solid modeling system for the
design-through-documentation of mechanical parts and assemblies. It
runs on Unix workstations and PCs.
