Fujitsu Launches Logistics Consulting Practice

Fujitsu, the world's second largest computer maker, recently launched its logistics consulting practice in Japan to help its clients evaluate and improve their logistics operations and systems. Fujitsu will leverage its marketing position as the second largest supplier of telecommunications equipment and fourth biggest microchip maker in the world, to introduce itself to the logistics consulting business. With such a large market share in industries dependent on efficient logistics, Fujitsu is responding to recent client requests for assistance with logistics strategy development.

A cross-functional team of Fujitsu's brightest and most highly motivated professionals have been assembled to offer the consulting programs to large and small clients. The team's training program is designed to add formal logistics engineering capability to the rich experience in logistics improvement projects. The team is working closely with Logistics Resources International and The Progress Group — U.S.-based logistics service companies — to benchmark U.S. and Japanese logistics performance, practices and consulting methodologies.

Fujitsu's consulting service portfolio includes logistics and warehouse audits, logistics and warehouse master planning, logistics and warehouse management system design, logistics decision support tools, and logistics professional education.
