Sterling Commerce Inks Two EC Agreements

Sterling Commerce (Dallas, Texas) (www.stercomm.com) has signed two agreements that enhance its electronic commerce offerings to companies doing business with the federal government.

Through an agreement with X-Change Software, Inc. (Oakton, Va.) (www.ornl.gov/cals/xchange.html), Sterling will act as a referral partner for X-Bid, a Windows-based software product that streamlines the process of doing business electronically with the government via the Federal Acquisition Network (FACNET). X-Bid is a packaged bidding solution that enables a supplier to sign on as a FACNET-capable vendor and receive and respond to electronic Requests for Quotes (RFQs) from the government. X-Bid is fully compatible with Sterling's COMMERCE:Network, which is FACNET-certified.

Sterling Commerce has also embarked on a re-marketing agreement with Selbre Associates, Inc., (Bethesda, Md.), a federal contracts management firm, to address the unique needs of federal contractors. Selbre's activities are focused in four primary service areas: contract management and compliance, electronic commerce at the business application level (including electronic price list maintenance), education and training programs, and stra-tegic/tactical marketing services.
