iCat Software Mass Markets E-Commerce Solution
The iCat Software Corp., (Seattle, Wash.;
www.icat.com) has signed an
agreement with Tech Data, a PC products distributor, to distribute
iCat's Electronic Commerce Suite.
The iCat Electronic Commerce Suite permits companies to do business
on the Internet by entering product information and selecting from
over 250 templates to automatically format and generate complete
electronic catalogs. HTML-savvy users can fully customize these
templates to control the look and features provided by their
catalogs. Transaction processing is supported on any Internet server,
along with powerful searching, built-in electronic shopping cart
functionality, tax and shipping calculations, and secure credit card
processing.
The software allows rich product information, including text,
graphics, videos, sounds and Adobe Acrobat files, to be collected,
organized and presented to shoppers. Products can be organized into
any number of catalog sections, and sophisticated merchandising
capabilities, such as cross-selling related products, are supported.
Shoppers visiting catalogs produced with the iCat software are
treated to browsable navigation, search capabilities, convenient
shopping carts, and the choice of secure payment options.
The iCat software supports Macintosh, Windows 95, Windows NT, Sun
Solaris, Sun-OS, Digital Alpha, SGI, AIX and other popular UNIX
platforms.
